Young Ae Oum, a retired businesswoman, has found new passions in her retirement years, immersing herself in painting and music. With her business career behind her, she now devotes her time to pursuits that spark her creativity.

My mother's passion for painting her garden, flowers, and plants left a lasting impression on me, particularly her use of bright and vivid colors to bring her subjects to life on canvas. As I grew up surrounded by her artwork, I found myself deeply inspired by the vibrant hues and expressive energy of her paintings.

In my own studio, I can see how this influence manifests itself in my work. Just as my mother painted abstractly to capture the essence of her garden, I find myself drawn to the same approach when working with clay. I am naturally inclined to choose bold and vibrant colors for my sculptures, using them to convey emotion and energy.
